Zemcor is a Proprietary Limited Company registered in 1997
It began as a shared idea between three brothers of the Pohplonker family who are the directors and shareholders of the Company. Since its inception, Zemcor has been built on core values of integrity, honesty and sheer willingness to satisfy our customers’ needs. Through this dedication, Zemcor has become one of the very few 100% Black owned food ingredient manufacturers and suppliers in South Africa.
Due to our impressive customer centricity and extensive product and service offerings, we have become a preferred supplier of food ingredients to leading businesses from micro to national and multinational companies.

The success of Zemcor is built on our ability to service, manufacture, supply and distribute food ingredients to various industries ranging from micro and small enterprises to large manufacturers that supply FMCG to the retail market, as well as specialised manufacturers in the meat and bakery industries and spice packers.
Zemcor is able to operate in a highly competitive industry as we import raw materials, perform our own product processing and control our own distribution throughout South Africa.
WHERE WE OPERATE FROM
Organoleptic Quality Control and Quality Assurance
Laboratory Facility
Zemcor’s head office is situated at 124 Capricorn Drive, Capricorn Business Park, Muizenberg. The premises includes a main administration section, an organoleptic Quality Control and Quality Assurance Laboratory Facility.
The head office houses a factory which includes milling, blending and processing plants on site including:
- raw materials
- finished goods
- bulk packing
- despatch and delivery
Zemcor rents offsite warehouse facilities in addition to the head office.
The factory has been built to HACCP and ISO 22000 approved standards.
Zemcor upgraded our certification in 2016 to FSSC 22000. Prior to this Zemcor held the ISO 22000 certification for five years.
